A Card Game, A Love Letter: “Witches' Revel” Is Out Now
Tiny witches, wavering hearts, & enormous spells — yours to enjoy if you love card games, and ready to share with those who may yet love them.
Hello there! My name is Aura, and I made an expandable card game happen!
Witches' Revel is a lane-based dueling card game for two players, one that is built out of the best bits of several competitive card games from the last 25 years… though probably not the ones you're thinking about.

In a game of Witches' Revel… Two witches, immortal & invulnerable, vie to see which among them has the best spells!
The strike spells you play will face your opponent's one-versus-one in each of the spaces on the field. There is no life total to chase down, no solitaire turns, or snowballing to end with no recourse — only when a witch taps out, and the opponent finishes their one extra special Final Turn, you'll check who kept the best spells standing in most spaces and won the game!
And… tapping out doesn't mean losing! Going out in a blaze of glory may be exactly what you want to do, if it makes the game end while you're ahead. But spells won't stay still, just waiting for that moment — they'll grow, waver, blow each other out of the sky, and even return from your discards for a grand finale.
Base Game: 2-Player Ready-to-Play Kit.
The entire game, with playsets of every card, plus everything you need to learn it & play it. $25, available now.
If this sounds nice to you, and you're thinking “oh, where's the crowdfunding link so I can put money down and then wait nine months to get it?”, well…
… I'm sad to disappoint you, because the first base game box set, Eternal Rhapsody, is out now and available for purchase right now from the Witches' Revel Store. 😊
On top of that, the game tries really hard to be radically available:
- If you buy it, you only need to buy once. None of the Witches' Revel products are randomized, and you get full playsets of all game cards they contain.
- If you can't swing $25 and are okay with skipping the accessories in the box, you can get just the cards and save some;
- If that's still too much, you can get a print & play, pay-what-you-want edition of the game at itch.io;
- There is international shipping help available, and print-on-demand versions of the game to skip shipping through the US;
- And no matter what, online play through TCG Arena or Tabletop Simulator is always free — you can join the Discord server to find people to play with and get announcements as new things are added:
Finally, if you like to collect, fret not. Even without the randomness, you can still make a financially inadvisable decision to fill your deck or binder with gorgeous, collectible versions of the cards, and help support the future of the game. Just… without the usual rare-chasing: you still get playsets of everything in the one pack.
Collector's Upgrade Pack
17 reversible borderless cards, with full-art illustration on the back, and 1 Stamina game aid — all foil on both sides. Buy once: no randomness, full playsets. $21, available now.
Witches' Revel is a love letter to the games that made me dream and the moments that made me grow. It's built to be interesting to you if you shuffle cardboard in your sleep, and also designed with as much attention and care as I could muster to have someone who may have bounced off other games come in at the table, try it, and go 'huh, I get why this stuff is exciting to you now'.
It's a gift that I give to you to make this happen — literally, if you want to use the accessibility options above. But if can you support it and do, it would fill me with joy to have a way to add to it over time and let these two girlfriend-nemeses — and a host of other ideas nibbling at the edges — have more time in their spotlight.
Thank you for reading. See you at the revel! ✨🔮 — ✾ A.
