Contributors/Freelancers

We are currently commissioning a limited number of articles for publication in July as part of our pledge drive initiative.

This is our Universal Freelancer Agreement, which outlines rates, rights, and other important things.

We accept pitches from across the breadth of the TTRPG ecosystem, from personal essays to reviews to investigations. We are especially interested in marginalized voices and would like to encourage people of color, queer and trans people, and people living in the global south to pitch to us. You do not have to, nor should you feel pressured to, explain your marginalizations for us or make your pitch about your identity. 

When you have a pitch, send an email to pitches pitches@rascal.news with PITCH in the subject line, followed by your proposed or potential headline. If something is time sensitive, please put PITCH TIME SENSITIVE in the subject line. In your pitch send us a couple short grafs that outlines what you will write about, the methodology (if applicable, i.e. interviewing x or y designer), and, most importantly, why it is relevant to our audience.

Also, send us a little bio! This isn’t as important as a good pitch, but if you’ve got specific expertise, skills, or connections that will help you write a great piece, we’d love to know. 

Finally, please do not write anything for Rascal until we have agreed to purchase your article.

Fellowships

Our fellowship program is not currently active. When we open our call for fellows, we will announce it via email and on our social channels.
