Azara’s Fist Debuts as a Level 20 Actual Play Podcast, Putting Epic Power Front and Center
A new series from Amateurish Productions explores endgame D&D play from the start.
Amateurish Productions debuts Azara’s Fist, a new actual play podcast that begins at level 20—placing Dungeons & Dragons’ most powerful play at the center of the story from the very first episode. The series follows four ordinary individuals who, after dying, are resurrected by Azara, the goddess of knowledge and magic, and granted a fragment of divine power. In exchange, they must uncover and stop a looming threat capable of destroying the material plane itself.
Azara’s Fist stars Katie DeMatteis as Biatrice Sanguinetti, Ben MartinMooney as Buckley Alexander, Shawn Banerjee as Ved Anjana, and Eli Shanks as Kaelis Nox, with Justin Lane serving as dungeon master.
Though drawn from very different lives before their deaths, the party returns to the world bound by Azara’s divine bargain and forced into an uneasy alliance. Their characters range from the tragic to the unconventional (a scholar, a criminal, a mob princess, and one former dog), bringing sharply different perspectives to the challenges of wielding immense power.
Azara’s Fist sets itself apart by beginning at level 20 and extending play beyond the traditional limits of 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons. Rather than treating high-level play as a brief epilogue, the series places legendary power front and center from the outset.
To support this approach, the team has developed custom progression systems and narrative tools designed to explore character growth, consequence, and escalation after level 20. These mechanics will be introduced gradually throughout the series as the story unfolds.
