Dirt City Blues, the new TTRPG from The World Anvil Publishing, is now live on Backerkit. Dive into a neon-soaked city of bullets, grudges, and redemption—where it’s always the late ’80s, and always a bad idea to look back.
            Dirt City Blues, the new tabletop roleplaying game from The World Anvil Publishing (Broken Tales, Dead Air: Seasons, Valraven: The Chronicles of Blood and Iron, Bitter Chalice), is now live on Backerkit Crowdfunding. Inspired by the neon-drenched grit of Sin City and the razor-sharp tension of Tarantino’s underworld stories, the game invites players into a city that never left the late ’80s—and probably never should have.
A Game About Badasses, Hard Choices, and Going Out Swinging
In Dirt City Blues, players take on the roles of burned-out legends—hardened pros with haunted pasts, short fuses, and nothing left to prove but everything to lose. After years in hiding, something pulls them back: a knock at the door, a name from the past, a Problem that no one else will touch.
Set in a fictional city stuck between payphones and power plays, the game blends crime drama, pulp noir, and redemption arcs into an explosive, character-driven experience.
Powered by Monad Echo
Built on the Monad Echo system (free SRD here), and refined for Dirt City Blues, the game uses a fast, cinematic dice engine that rewards risk, emotional weight, and narrative escalation. New mechanics like Strain and the revamped Bond system (split between White and Black Lists) drive personal stories, moral compromises, and unpredictable turns.
