Mere moments ago, the world far below your flying city shattered under countless mortals' feet. In the coming days, gods will die, nations will crumble, the courts of fey and devil alike will fall, and aliens will come to watch the show.

For everyone else on your world, it's the end of everything. For you, it's a perfect opportunity.

Welcome to Ivory Tower, a semi-cooperative Sparked by the Resistance roleplaying game about unbelievably powerful people in an amazing, ending world. Playing as archmages, you jointly rule a city that's equal parts a fantasy metropolis and bubblegum dystopia. That is, until one of you puts your master plan into place and either destroys you all or ascends to sole rulership of your world's ruined remains.

Ivory Tower Features

  • A Sparked by the Resistance game that incorporates a recurring political simulation to mechanically incentivize intrigue between PCs and NPCs alike.
  • Tools and guides to help each campaign's Chair manage the game's ongoing apocalypse and all of the ultrafantastic factions that populate it.
  • Hand drawn art and diagrams created by the game's principal designer, Mason Allan.

At this time, Ivory Tower is exclusively available as a 200 page PDF.

What the Creator's Saying

"For years, political intrigue has been a TTRPG white whale of mine. I've pushed for a game or campaign where players' participation (or lack of participation) in a fantastic world's surreal systems of power impact the players and systems in fundamental, mechanical ways. By and large, my attempts fall short.

"I think I've chased an intrigue-filled game because popular TTRPGs often romanticize the world-shaping acts of a sexy, select few. We want to be the main characters, but maybe lack mechanical tools to help explore how that changes the world around us. Powerful people who want to be at the center of history will collide with or become influential movers in the systems that shape and act on that history.

"I wanted to take that desire to an extreme with Ivory Tower because I think that main character mindset can be both deliciously dramatic and dangerously detrimental when brought into high-stakes sociopolitical situations—most likely for you, but definitely for everyone else." – Mason Allan
