My First Dungeon’s latest season features viking death-metal cats
This is a community submitted press release.

On this season of My First Dungeon there will be no Game Master...

There will be no Facilitator...

There will be no Keeper...

There will only be DEATH.

In the latest season of the TTRPG podcast My First Dungeon, the cast dives into 9 Lives to Valhalla by Gem Room Games, playing viking death-metal cats seeking glory while on a quest issued by Death itself. And in this game, every time you roll the dice…something has to die.

Episode 1 of My First Dungeon: 9 Lives to Valhalla premieres Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, with new episodes dropping every other week through the end of March 2024.

The limited actual play series features an all-star cast of MFD regulars including Carolyn Page (Dropout), Michelle Chan-Bennett (UCB), Shenuque Tissera (The Art of Killin' It), Abby Hepworth (Sounds Funny Radio), Elliot Davis (Rom Com Drama Bomb), and Brian Flaherty as Death.

9 Lives to Valhalla is a game that dials the drama and intensity up to 11. Each and every roll of the dice brings with it the promise of death, putting a mighty weight on every decision—even for those who’ve got nine lives to spare. The detailed mechanics, stunning artwork and meticulous writing all come together to inform a focused experience for players, which is exactly what made the My First Dungeon team fall in love with the TTRPG in the first place.

“The game strikes an ideal balance between allowing players the creative freedom to have their cats battle just about anything with world-specific moves and character traits” says Hepworth who plays Norwegian forest cat Inga in the series. “Our cast immediately felt right at home in the silly-yet-epic world of 9 Lives to Valhalla, which made it only too easy to deliver on drama in the most satisfying ways.”
