You have a human child. You cannot find its parents. You are creatures of fur, scales and fangs. You have claws that can rend flesh, faces that can crack mirrors, howls that can cause ears to bleed.

And your charge wants a blankie.

With its latest update, Protect the Child, the Forged-in-the-Dark game of monster babysitters, is looking for GM-feedback.

Built from the bones of wildly-popular Blades in the Dark, Protect the Child centers seven flawed but sympathetic character playbooks around a kid with special powers, each tasked with keeping the Child away from various factions and powers that would do them harm. It aims to evoke emotionally resonant experiences and high-action drama. The game has four quick start scenarios available for ease of play-testing, in drastically different genres.

Mint, the game's designer, is looking for feedback on the GM-facing mechanics during the latest round of play-testing, especially regarding rules clarity and ease of use. Mint is requesting that GMs submit feedback on what does or does not work, but abstain from submitting recommendations on what they think would work better.

Interested GMs can check out the Discord link at the bottom of the store page, or submit feedback in the comment section of Protect the Child's storefront on Itch.
