'Beyond the Lighthouse': an unofficial Candela Obscura™ Compatible supplement launching on BackerKit in October 2025
Traverse new lands and confront new horrors.

La Lionne Publishing is proud to announce the upcoming BackerKit campaign for Beyond the Lighthouse, an unofficial Candela Obscura™ Compatible supplement. Launching October 1, 2025, this ambitious expansion will take players far beyond the familiar boundaries of Hale into uncharted territories reshaped by the Great Cataclysm of 0CE.
A Living World of Horror
In Beyond the Lighthouse, players will witness how Magick twists and reshapes entire nations, discover hidden truths about Otherwhere, known here as Ravanseil, and confront horrors both familiar and new. Whether you’re a seasoned Candela player or stepping into the Circle for the first time, the included modules provide ready-to-play scenarios that bring everything from psychological, folk, and even eldritch horror to your table.

Beyond the Lighthouse expands the world of Candela Obscura with:
- Three brand-new countries to explore, each with its own cultures, struggles, and unique relationship with Bleed and Magick.
- Five new playable factions, including the Exoteric Order of New Sciences and the Red Hand from the core book, as well as several factions unique to these new lands. Players can also form a Cacophony, an ensemble of Investigators from multiple factions.
- 20 prewritten modules for immediate play: 15 steeped in local lore and history across the three new countries, plus five “drop-in” modules adaptable to any campaign.
- Three detailed maps by award-winning cartographer Fernando Salvaterra, also available as prints.
- Original human-created art and writing from a diverse roster of illustrators, mapmakers, writers, and more!
“Beyond the Lighthouse is our answer to what can be found beyond the borders of Hale,” says project lead Anya Good. “Each country is unique not only in how they connect with Bleed and Magick, but also in the balances of power among factions. We wanted to open up the world, give players a chance to step into unfamiliar territories, and confront horror in ways never before seen in Candela.”

A Global Team of Creatives
The project is led by Anya Good, alongside developers and co-writers Dorian Blackwood, Lilith Wilde, Blanka, and Sonja Birgmann. The supplement features writing from a diverse group of TTRPG authors, including Lola Johnson, Michelle Kelly, Kat the Lore Mistress, Penny Blake, Jienbirb, Finley Palaniki, and more.
Art is provided by omegasama_art, Natasja van Gestel, Matt Willetto, and James Creative, with character sheets by Alderdoodle. Ennio leads layout design, while Fernando Salvaterra delivers richly detailed maps. The project also features an original musical theme by Jolene Kohr.
