Brute Fort, an 18 card dungeon delver, launches on Kickstarter
Innovative card play for one player with a soundtrack of dusty synth to match
Your party of heroes stands at the base of the dark fort. Inside waits unimaginable horrors and irresistible opportunity.
Indie TTRPG designer Alfred Valley (Thousand Empty Light, Cycles of the Eye) branches out into card game design with a lightweight game that oozes flavour.
Launching 19th November 2025, Brute Fort takes the familiar format of card duelling games, like Magic The Gathering and Marvel Snap, and turns it into a lightweight solo experience. Instead of battling against an opponent, this game sees the player battling the eponymous fort itself, racing to reach the top and come out on top.
Brute Fort is presented in a double tape cassette case alongside a soundtrack of "dungeon music" by Gus BC, who previously worked with Valley on the soundtrack for Thousand Empty Light (Mothership RPG). Aesthetically the project takes inspiration from old forgotten media, like "video nasty" VHS tapes from the early 80s, and the cards themselves are stark black and white, leaning into dark fantasy grittiness.

Kickstarter backers can choose between the double tape cassette case, the card game on its own, or a digital download. Plus anyone who pledges for a physical tier in the first 48 hours of the Kickstarter launch will receive a free embroidered patch.
Brute Fort is available to back until 2nd December 2025.
