Donate Games, Support Libraries: International Games Month 2025

A call to TTRPG creators! Donating digital or physical games to libraries goes a long way in supporting community resources, and IGM is the time to do it!

Donate Games, Support Libraries: International Games Month 2025

What is International Games Month?

Every November, The American Library Association’s (ALA’s) Games & Gaming Roundtable (GameRT) hosts the International Games Month (IGM) event to help libraries build up their supply of games available to patrons.

Libraries apply to be awarded games donated by sponsors. Games are distributed to libraries based on a lottery system, and the list of libraries + contact information is sent to the sponsors so they can send games to winning locations.

How does this impact libraries and creators?

This event is a fantastic resource for libraries to build up gaming libraries, particularly in times where funding and resources are in question, AND it is a great opportunity for creators to get their name out to more folks who might not normally be able to access or find their work.

How to sign up or support the event

If you are a librarian who would like to sign their library up for the event, you can enter your location's info here.

If you are a sponsor, you can fill out the form here, indicating what level of support you’d like to provide.

International Games Month relies on sponsors to provide games in order to support the libraries that are requesting gaming materials. Sponsors can donate physical game copies, digital game copies, discounts, or funds to the event, meaning there’s different ways to support that can fit different budgets and means (i.e. if you can’t provide physical copies due to printing costs, digital copies are also accepted).

If you have any questions about the event, please contact gamert@ala.org, and we're looking forward to seeing more TTRPGs in this year's IGM!

International Games Month is a non-commercial, volunteer-run library initiative under the auspices of the American Library Association in partnership with the Australian Library and Information AssociationNordic Game WeekFinnish Game WeekAssociazione Italiana Biblioteche, and the Public and Mobile Library Group of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals sponsored by a number of quality game publishers and distributors.
