Folk Horror RPG Launches for Halloween
Run from the Dark is a folk horror RPG coming to kickstarter on the 28th of October from the creator of Forbidden Psalm and Last War. Based on Welsh Folklore and set in a world where the Dark literally kills you.
Fear of the dark is as intrinsic as any of humanities fears and Run from the Dark plays on this fear by making the Dark a cosmic horror that you have to tangle with.
Run from the Dark is a roleplay game about folk horror, the things that go bump in the Dark and existential dread. In Run from the Dark, the Dark literally kills you. It is a malevolent force that consumes and takes all who are lost in it. In Run from the Dark you play as the Walkers who go out into the Dark, with lights of various kinds, forging your way through the bleak world, connecting towns and facing the horrors that call the Dark home.
Run From the Dark uses an the easy to learn custom roleplay system, that is narrative focused and designed to create interesting and unique characters. Or if you want you can use Run from the Dark as a horror setting for your favourite roleplay game. Designed for 2-6 players the core book contains everything you need to get playing, including a Book sleave that doubles as a world map/GM screen.
Over 15 artists have brought the world of Run from the Dark to life, in creepy and horrible detail. The core book is over 280 pages of folk horror goodness.
As part of the core campaign you can pick up custom Stagletters by Rachmakes, these wonderful little characters bring some hope to the world of Run from the Dark.
