Hard Wired Island: Second Gig coming to Kickstarter
The retrofuture cyberpunk TTRPG gets its first major expansion
In 2019 we crowdfunded Hard Wired Island, the retrofuture cyberpunk TTRPG. In 2021 the game was released to rave reviews. But we can't leave it at one shift.
Hard Wired Island: Second Gig, the game's first full-length expansion, is coming to Kickstarter in February. It brings new character options, more setting information, and new scenarios. Whether you're a veteran player or a newcomer to Hard Wired Island, Second Gig has something for you!
Hard Wired Island is a retrofuture cyberpunk TTRPG inspired by 90s anime. It's set on Grand Cross, a space station in an alternate 2020 where a meteorite strike supercharged public interest in space exploration. The player characters are citizens of Grand Cross, doing their best to live their everyday lives while fighting for the station's future.
Second Gig expands on the station of Grand Cross with new mechanics and setting information, including:
- New character options for PCs to choose from, including four new Occupations: the Agent, the Crosser, the Enforcer, and the Warlock.
- New pregenerated PCs for one-shots and convention play.
- New factions and associated NPCs which can function as allies, contacts, and enemies—including expanded looks at old faves from Hard Wired Island.
- New locations to explore, including places that can be used as starting areas for new groups.
- New scenarios and plot hooks, including a collection of two-page scenarios for use as starter adventures, breather episodes and convention games.
- A new scenario arc which explores the even more distant future of 2025. (It's not required to play, so it's up to you when and how to use it.
- A new soundtrack of background music to play while you play
- No genAI because I'm not some kind of amateur
