Earlier this year, the transnational HELLO//GOODBYE volunteer team designed and printed 100 zines and raised over $3,700 for legal aid in Virginia - more than double their original goal. Now, HELLO//GOODBYE is going digital, and it’s open to players all around the world!
From now until November 5th, you can pick up the HELLO//GOODBYE Charity Bundle for Legal Aid on itch.io. Inside you’ll find 203 games by 114 creators, making the bundle a treasure trove of tabletop RPGs, video games, and experimental gems.
Some are ENNIE award-winners, like Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast by Possum Creek Games, others are games by favorites like snow, who has two games in the bundle (Songbirds and Lilancholy), and many are fresh works waiting for you to discover them!
WHY THIS MATTERS
In the face of growing political tension, housing crises, and complex immigration systems, more and more people in the USA find themselves in legal challenges that they cannot solve on their own. Free legal services by dedicated lawyers and advocates can be absolutely vital in assisting people facing eviction, deportation, or other traumatic legal battles.
Virginia has played a starring role in US history in both advancing and suppressing the march for justice. Through this bundle, the project is fundraising for Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and the Legal Aid Justice Center, two non-profit organizations in Virginia that help low-income and marginalized people with no-cost legal support.
THE ORGANIZATIONS
Central Virginia Legal Aid Society is a community of lawyers whose mission is to provide free legal services to low-income individuals in civil cases and to help the low-income and elderly community through preventive community legal education.
The Legal Aid Justice Center partners with communities and clients to fight for racial, social, and economic justice by dismantling systems that create and perpetuate poverty.
Both organizations are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
