ArcWorlde is a fantasy skirmish game written by Alex Huntley, with art by Alex Huntley, and miniatures lovingly sculpted by Alex Huntley. The rest of the team at Warp Miniatures consist of his mum (Dawn), his dad (Rob), and his wife (Wingshan). The miniatures produced by this family firm are absolutely lovely, full of character, and a joy to paint. A few months back, I decided to treat myself to some ArcWorlde minis, and picked up the new Ancient Dead warband along with a couple of extras.
When I announced to one of my hobby Discord servers that my new minis had been delivered, my pal, Goonhammer writer Bair — a famously quick and prolific painter — joked about me maintaining the server record he’d set of having warbands painted within a week of arrival. I’m a bit of a sucker for a challenge, so I took him up on it, resolving to get my shiny new Ancient Dead (that doesn’t sound right) all ready for the tabletop in a week. What follows is a record of my heroic endeavours.
