You are Kassandra King.

You are a private investigator who does odd jobs for odd people. You bribe ghosts, track down runaway angels, and cover up occult phenomenon as an occasional contractor for the External Containment Bureau. You know a million little secrets, and are fueled by spite and imported cigarettes.

And you are about to make a deal with the devil.

Kassandra King: Devil's Dice is a single player game about inhabiting a hard-boiled investigator as she careens around a city full of occult secrets, solving cold cases, and trying not to piss off everyone she meets. The game is fueled by the Ironsworn rules system and has moves that drive the story forward, forcing Kassandra to come face to face with her worst impulses, and either get better or worse.

The you that could be honest is dead Kassandra, and this isn’t the story where she comes back.
Characters, cold cases, and scenes help define your story.
Some moves come with soundtrack recommendations so you can get the vibe just right.

Devil's Dice takes place in the world of the External Containment Bureau, a world like ours but with paranormal phenomenon tightly monitored by a brutalist and clandestine organization. Will you work with your handlers to do odd jobs, or uncover a conspiracy that tests Kassandra's loyalties and few remaining friendships?

Sample world-building documents from the game.

Kassandra King: Devil's Dice is funding a print run and has discounted digital copies for folks experiencing financial hardship. The crowdfunding campaign runs until September 1st, and has options for late funding if you miss the initial window. It is written and designed by Michael Elliott of Not Writing Games (Neon Black, RIG, A Torch in the Dark). It funded within it's first hour on Kickstarter, and additional funds let the designer keep doing this full-time.

Instructions for how you can help get the word out about the game and others funding this summer can be found on the Kassandra King: Devil's Dice Kickstarter page.
