Lay it on the Table: Failure States
In which the party almost gets their collective arse handed to them.

As my esteemed colleague has already blogged, I’m facilitating a Cosmere RPG campaign for a group of friends. It’s been an interesting experience — running a pre-written adventure for a very trad, Dungeons & Dragons adjacent game is something I haven’t done for a very long time. Improvisation comes much easier to me than remembering what someone else has written. We’re now two sessions into Stonewalkers proper, and the PCs have successfully reached the first part of the adventure, but it was far from a sure thing. At the climax of the chapter, we strayed perilously close to a disastrous total party kill that could have derailed the entire thing.
And it’s entirely the adventure’s fault.
