Striking a Faustian bargain with a mysterious revolutionary leader who promises to fulfill their dreams of revenge and glory, they set off on a mission to do the unthinkable – infiltrate to the center of Imperial power and kill the Divine Emperor and his retinue, sending the entire Empire into chaos. Arrayed against them, on top of all the forces of cultural and political hegemony, is a monstrous conspiracy with roots that extend into every institution of Rome.
