Little but Fierce is a tabletop roleplaying game based on the popular 5th Edition ruleset that has been simplified and streamlined to be easily accessible to kids as young as six (but still plenty of fun for those who are one hundred and six!).

The changes cover three main areas:

  • Rules, ensuring that unnecessarily complicated rules have either been simplified or removed entirely, keeping the fun and spirit of 5th Edition there in its simplest form (and without the scope for pedantic "rules lawyering!").
  • Language, making sure that both key terminology and prose explanations are as accessible as possible, so either a young child can read it themselves or a parent can read it to them without need for paraphrasing.
  • Tone, keeping the fantasy fun but avoiding unnecessary mentions of more adult concepts (such as death) and removing any antiquated harmful tropes.

Back in 2022, Little but Fierce was first released as a digital-only Starter Edition that included the bare minimum you'd need to run a campaign, with a very limited range of classes, creatures, magic items etc. and no artwork other than a simple front cover.

Since then, the Starter Edition has become a best seller on DriveThruRPG and people have been asking "when will we get a printed edition with all the classes?"

Well, here it is!

Stretch Goals

If the Kickstarter meets its initial funding goal, there will be stretch goals to commission four actual plays from The Kids Table, EUphoria, Deck of Many Aces and the incredible team at High Rollers.

In addition, there's the opportunity to commission a Little but Fierce theme song from singer-songwriter Yasmin Curren (YagmanX) and producer Benjamin Lloyd, in the style of classic 90s Saturday morning cartoons!
