The danger in any long lived enterprise is that everything new must feel familiar and comfortable to be acceptable. Monsters, like art, should be neither familiar nor comfortable. They should be challenging and this issue of Yggdrasil MGZ is filled with monsters that do just that.

The entire issue is inspired by the interview work of Studs Terkel and the second Ravenloft Monster Manual. Each entry includes a fictional oral history and the stats needed to use the monster in the Torchbearer RPG and your favorite flavor of Dungeons & Dragons. Fourteen monsters in all, there are even rules on how to introduce these horrors into your game by tapping your inner David Cronenberg.
