In The Crypt Has Opened, you will take on the role of magical practitioners fighting to reclaim the Dead Spaces of the world from cryptids, spirits, cultists, and the corporations trying to capitalize on all of those to gain power. Imagine if Stephen King’s “The Stand”, “Tales From the Crypt” comics, and “Lockwood and Co.” put together all their spookiest parts to cause nightmares across the world. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

Enjoy a new, cooperative storytelling system called the Imposition Dice System. With its roots in such games as Blades in the Dark, Cypher System, and Savage Worlds, you’ll find it familiar with its ease of play and captivating dice resolution mechanic that uses failure, success with consequences, and success as potential outcomes. While we all enjoy success, you’ll quickly discover that The Crypt Has Opened plays best in the space between success and failure, a fact incentivized by how you only gain experience through failing rolls.
