Residue Launches on Kickstarter: Solo Survival Sci-Fi Horror RPG
Follow the Hum. Search the ruins. Find what remains.
Residue is an upcoming solo survival sci-fi horror tabletop RPG from Weird Place, and is live on Kickstarter from February 25 to March 25. Inspired by touchstones like Blame!, Mothership, and Stalker, Residue explores themes of isolation, endurance, and slow discovery across a non-euclidian world of impossible architecture and machine-infested ruins. There are secrets to the land to discover, but is it worth the price of Corruption?
Residue is designed for replayable solo sessions, with each map generated procedurally as you play. Wanderers take on the role of a solitary explorer following the never-ending Hum. Search through the brutalist megastructures of erased civilizations to find hints of what happened to these societies eons ago. The game focuses heavily on survival and resource tracking. Food, Water, and Battery must be managed while Strain accumulates as the character pushes past their limits.

Mechanically, Residue is based off a dice pool system that governs everything from movement, combat, exploration, and skills. Combat is high-risk and deadly, always forcing players to decide if the reward is worth the resource drain. Exploration unfolds through a randomized hex map that is different each time you play.
Residue is the second game from Weird Place who successfully funded and fulfilled their first game Fluff n' Fury for ZineQuest last year.
