With Stabracadabra, 5E gamers get the chance to play as a sentient magic sword. The bad news: as a sword, you need a fighter to carry you around. The good news: if the fighter dies, just get a new one (assuming the fighter didn’t drop you in a volcano or some other equally unrecoverable position).

“Sentient weapons are a staple of fantasy fiction and a big part of my own webcomic series The Middle Age,” says Stabracadabra creator Steve Conley. “Stabracadabra lets 5E players design and level up their own legendary blade, create the conditions to wield them, and replace their fighter if needs must.”

Stabracadabra is available in PDF, Zine, and deluxe hardcover formats. And there’s a Bladeborne fighter mini as well!

Included in the book…

  • Rules for playing a Sentient Cursed Sword and your Bladeborne fighter minion
  • The Bladeborne fighter subclass: a fun, powerful, and playable subclass optimized for the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons and compatible systems
  • Rules for replacing your fighter if they die or if you just feel like it
  • A guide for leveling up your Sentient Cursed Sword - unlocking new abilities for your fighter
  • New spells, magic items, and monsters

The PDF download is just $5, the zine is $20 (which includes the PDF), and the hardcover version is $30 (and also includes the PDF).

Everything in Stabracadabra is written and illustrated by Steve Conley. (He sculpted the mini as well.)

When not making RPG supplements, Steve is a cartoonist and creator of the acclaimed fantasy webcomic The Middle Age (middleagecomic.com). Steve’s other projects include illustrating comic books and comic-book covers for titles including Star Trek, Adventure Time, Fionna & Cake, TMNT, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and Archie.

No generative A.I. is used in the production of Steve’s projects ever.
