Multi-award winning podcast, NO QUEST FOR THE WICKED, is returning to Paizo’s space-fantasy TTRPG system, Starfinder, in FRONTIERS, their long awaited second season.  Set 25 years after the events of their first season, RECKONING, a new planet magically appears in the Casa-Mal system, and a race to explore and discover its mysteries begins.

Kicking off with a prologue episode in which guest stars Jeremy Cobb, Liv Kennedy, and Candace the Magnificent (3 Black Halflings) take on the roles of elite interdimensional operatives sent out to observe and avert apocalyptic disasters across the multiverse; they bear witness to the unique and catastrophic origins of Dhura Sancta, the new planet at the front and center of FRONTIERS.

GM Dain Miller describes the new season as an exploration of “discovery and consequence” that acts as a “unique experiment in collaborative storytelling” due to the audience assuming the role of characters within the settlement in which the campaign centers around.  Alongside series regulars Niall Spain and Ryan Dwyer, the audience, through a series of pre-season votes on the show’s official Discord, took part in building the new planet and settlement, from the ground up.  Various campaign-shaping decisions such as determining a corporate sponsor for the settlement, and choosing the technologies citizen’s homes will be outfitted with were decided upon through audience voting, and the world was then fleshed out via an on-air game of The Quiet Year, a world-building game by Avery Alder.

Throughout the campaign, audience members will continue to shape the world and narrative via the Discord voting system, and the season one fan-favourite ability to suggest NPC names will also be returning.. FRONTIERS also marks the introduction of in-universe factions; enabling audience members to band together and create an online faction that will be weaved directly into the narrative of the show.  Factions already formed include a coffee shop that specializes in the procurement of less-than-legal goods, a private security firm, and an advanced biotech company.

Set in the now familiar system of Casa-Mal, FRONTIERS focuses on a new group of heroes; Flitlik (Niall Spain), a social elite cast aside from his influential family after a tragic accident, and Vlynnigan (Ryan Dwyer) an empty-nest father striking out on his own to seek the origins of his strange abilities.  Throughout the campaign the heroes will be joined by a rotating cast playing characters that will help, and sometimes hinder, the unlikely adventurers.

NO QUEST FOR THE WICKED’s first season garnered critical praise winning Outstanding Fiction Series, Outstanding Leisure Series, and Outstanding Production in the Canadian Podcast Awards, a CRIT Award for Best Villain, Audioverse Awards for Best Player Direction and Best Player in a New Production, and was also listed on En World’s Top 10 Actual Plays alongside Not Another D&D Podcast, Dungeons & Daddies, and Glass Cannon Network (among others).
