The Technogothic Nightmare Begins in April
Inspired by games like The Witcher, Bloodborne, and Horizon Zero Dawn, Gilmoril offers a unique twist on classic monster hunting tropes.
The Backerkit campaign for Gilmoril: Technogothic Nightmare goes live in April. You can follow the project on Backerkit to get notified when it launches.
Gilmoril is made by Australian game studio Tales Untold, and it is about hunting Technocytes, mechanical monsters that evoke creatures of myth. As part of the expert monster hunting group known as The Venerer, you are responsible for learning the traits, vulnerabilities, and habits of these monsters and using that information to destroy them.
Inspired by games like The Witcher, Bloodborne, and Horizon Zero Dawn, Gilmoril offers a unique twist on classic monster hunting tropes. With mechanics entirely focused on making you feel like a real expert, by giving you the tools to come up with answers for yourself.

The game book includes all the rules, lore, and tables you need to play and experience the game alone or with friends. That’s right! It’s solo-play friendly. Beyond that, the crowdfunding campaign offers custom dice, a field journal, a behind-the-scenes artbook, digital support, collectible coins, and even a fancy wax seal to protect all of your reports from being tampered with.
Didn’t we mention? As Venerer, your job is to report what you learned on the hunt. Once you submit your report it is considered the truth of the matter, regardless of any pesky facts that would otherwise get in the way. Over time, these reports come to represent the long career of your Venerer.
Will your honesty lead to ruin? Will your lies come back to haunt you? Are there some tales better left… untold?
