The War of the Spear ravaged the people of the Meridian. The Treaty of Hokaia gave them three centuries of peace. Now the gods—and the forbidden magic—threaten destroy all they built. The Celestial Tower is fallen; the Watchers dead or scattered; the Sun Priest no more.

Three centuries ago, the War of the Spear shook every corner of the Meridian. The dreamwalkers pitted their dark magic and the ferocity of the Hokaia spearmaidens against the Jaguar Prince of Cuecola and the Winged Serpent clan of Tova’s Sky Made people. In the end, the spearmaidens were driven back to their homeland, and the dreamwalkers put to death. On that very day, the four great peoples of the Meridian outlawed all magic and forbade worship of the gods whose power had brought so much calamity. They established the Watchers to guard against their return and to uphold order and reason across the continent, setting the Sun Priest over them all.

For 300 years, the Meridian enjoyed peace.

But the gods cannot be silenced forever. The secrets of the dreamwalkers and other forbidden magics are not lost entirely. Supplication among the meek—and ambition among the powerful—draw these forces back into the Meridian.

In this growing tumult your fate is bound, by the gods, to prophecy. Will you obediently follow the path that has been laid out for you? Or will you follow your heart toward the treacherous unknown? Either choice promises both rewards and punishment, but only one will shape you into the person you’re truly meant to be.

Based on the acclaimed bestselling novels of Rebecca Roanhorse—Black Sun, Fevered Star, and Mirrored Heavens—Between Earth and Sky: The Roleplaying Game immerses you in the Meridian, a rich and beautifully detailed world inspired by the civilizations of the Pre-Columbian Americas.

Whether you dream of singing to the sea, allying with crows, or commanding the shadows to do your bidding, you will be called upon to make difficult choices: between humans and gods, between your own clans, between what is right and what is allowed. And the most important choice of all: between what is expected of you and who you truly believe yourself to be.
