Khoursara: City of Seven Sentinels is a campaign setting for D&D 5e & Pathfinder 2e fusing dieselpunk/holographic Forerunner imagery with Ancient Egyptian culture and mythology, written by colebotman.
The oldest cyclical city in the world, Khoursara, is surrounded by seven megalithic structures full of ancient technology, which are being unsealed with the outbreak of civil war among the Pharaoh's Noble Houses. Now, even the Afterlife itself is changing.

4+ new animal-headed playable ancestries inspired by Egyptian gods!
- Half-Devourers, Hippo or Crocodile-headed soul (akh) eaters
- Mirankh, Hairless cats that carry magically tattooed stories upon the skin
- Jackhasan, Jackal headed caretakers of the dead; who can weigh the heart’s pride upon the scales
- Wadjet, choose one of 7 serpent children heritages of the exuding sun Goddess, each embodying a Sentinel Megastructure

New Game+ (NG+) Death / Afterlife Mechanics
- The Duat is never promised, even after your heart is weighed, and even after passing the 12 Gates. Make sure you’ve made the necessary preparations before dying!
Prepare to Die!
- Customize your character’s tomb with new symbols evoking the protection and guidance of the gods, icons of possessions, ushabti servants, funerary offerings, masks, pets, ka statues, canopic jars, amulets (such as a heart scarab beetle to quiet the heart during judgement), and mummification!
The Digital Duat & Hologram Ancestry Feats
- Optional rules include the Digital Duat, involving New Hologram ancestry feats to start with or add to existing characters!
- Be your paladin’s Cortana, bound to ancient hardware, whether as a computer chip on another player character, a freeform ethereal program, a physical machine (like an automaton), or otherwise. Disrupt minds, create afterimages, be digital!
