This English translation is currently being crowdfunded on Backerkit, alongside a brand-new RPG book that combines TROIKA! with the world of Liquid Steel, to make for probably one of the strangest roleplaying experiences players can find.

The comic book
A cult-classic comic book series co-created by Alcatena - whose other credits include Judge Dredd, Batman, Superman, X-Men and Heavy Metal comics - and writer Eduardo Mazzitelli (who has also written for the likes of Windward and Journey Through the Labyrinth), Liquid Steel takes place in a post-apocalyptic hellworld where what’s left of humankind fend for themselves within settlements populated by demons, disturbed magicians and gods addicted to mortal sensations.
The artwork for Liquid Steel is immediately striking, perfectly depicting a grotesque and baroque world that lives and breathes surrealism. This artwork will be featured inside a high quality book containing the entire run of the original Liquid Steel series, with translation by Hellworld Earth creator Gavriel Quiroga. Fans of Heavy Metal Comics, Grant Morrison and surrealist sci-fi fantasy stories like Frank Herbert’s Dune series, will find themselves right at home with Liquid Steel.
The RPG book
TROIKA! makes for the perfect system for the Liquid Steel RPG, thanks to how easily fans of the comic series will be able to begin creating characters and navigating the world, thanks to its rules-lite approach to gameplay.
The Liquid Steel RPG setting book - written by Quiroga - is governed by the 11 Laws of the Realm: highly interpretive cosmic rules implying any number of esoteric and disturbing possibilities. Whilst TROIKA! is a game about exploring a strange universe promising varied experiences, Liquid Steel posits a world wherein violence is the only solution - unless people are willing to subvert the rules.
Players will be able to choose from 36 new backgrounds that are entirely unique to Liquid Steel, including the Necro Alchemist - a researcher of the profane, whose obsession with death knowledge rules their entire life. The Liquid Steel setting book will also feature new enemies to face, new spells to learn, new items to use and two new adventures written by TROIKA! creator Daniel Sell.
The crowdfunding campaign
The crowdfunding campaign for both the Liquid Steel comic book and Liquid Steel RPG setting book is currently live on Backerkit and will continue until June 6th. Backers can get a complete Liquid Steel pack featuring both the comic book and RPG book for £60, whilst individual copies go for £35 (comic book) and £30 (RPG book). Digital versions of the pack (£15), comic (£10) and RPG book (£10) are also available to backers.
