CritStones, a Dutch dice brand, is set to debut the Mimic Dice Box on Kickstarter at 10 AM ET on Tuesday, November 24.
This hand-painted resin treasure chest comes with a tongue that flicks out at anyone opening it and a hoard of eyes. Inside the box, magnets push against one another when the box opens, flicking the tongue out at whoever opened it. There are no springs or batteries involved in the mechanism.

Almost every D&D player has encountered a mimic already: This treasure chest is designed to hold your dice. Up to four sets of them can fit inside this Mimic Dice Box. You could also store the party's loot in it, or the next clue to the adventure, or the d20 that failed you all night. Your dice have never been more scared to go into their dice jail

Every Mimic Dice Box is made from resin cast in individual parts, including the eyes, then put together and hand-painted, making each one unique. The box is approximately 14 x 9,5 x 9 centimeters and weighs around 750 grams.
Now, you can reserve a Mimic Dice Box for $1. The dollar is refundable and counts toward your pledge: reservers pay about $79 instead of around $90, plus shipping, before its official launch on Kickstarter. You will also get a plush chompy called Champie as a gift with your pledge. The estimated delivery time is August 2027.
CritStones is the brand of Dutch dice-making company GlassStaff in Boskoop. Their dice can be found in over 350 stores and are delivered to customers in more than 20 countries. This is CritStones’ first campaign on Kickstarter.
