Bläckfisk Publishing is proud to announce Knight Forlorn, a tabletop role-playing game that draws inspiration from titles like Dark Souls and Diablo, combining procedural generation and collaborative storytelling to weave tales of a lone wanderer on a futile quest in a withering world.

The Kickstarter campaign aims to raise €4,000 to produce the physical zine. The more funding received, the more bold it becomes.

About the Game

In Knight Forlorn, players take turns portraying the Knight and shaping the eerie world of Burghal—a vast, gothic metropolis corrupted by Torment. Through evocative prompts tied to a standard deck of playing cards, the game creates unpredictable encounters with monstrous foes, harsh obstacles, and unnerving inhabitants. No two stories are ever the same.

Players take turns assuming three roles:

  • The Lead: Portrays the Knight’s actions and thoughts.
  • The Narrator: Shapes the world and its encounters.
  • The Chorus: Adds detail and mood.

The game also supports duet and solo play.

Pledges and Stretch Goals

Backers can pledge at two levels:

  • Digital-only: Pay what you want (suggested €4.95).
  • Physical zine: €19, including all digital content.

Stretch goals unlock bonus content and enhancements of the physical zine—UV-coating, crimson accents, and more.
