Everdoom: an Upcoming Collaborative Game of Inevitability
Tremor Pings launches a crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound for their new game for four players. If you are ready to share authorship with others and let various roles shape a single, inevitable fable together, then this is the game for you.
Everdoom is a game of shared fables of becoming myth, told in four voices. It’s about a myth wandering in earthly form who stands ready to shape the world. Their choices are too heavy for mortals, yet at times too human for legends. The world reflects the burden they bear. Doom unfolds, and the Prime attempts to fulfill it—if they so choose.
The crowdfunding campaign launches on Gamefound on 15th September.
What is Everdoom?
Everdoom is a shared experience of exploration and storytelling for four players.
* The Guide acts as the eyes and ears of the world, describing situations. They also facilitate the game, helping other players understand their options.
* The Prime decides what their character thinks, feels, says, and does, giving expression to their choices. Their actions drive the fable.
* The Companion is also present as a character in the fictional world but possesses a special sense for Balance, informing and overseeing decisions.
* The Doomsayer may manifest directly—personifying adversaries—but regardless, they represent fate and the cosmic scale.
Everdoom offers a unique gaming experience that draws from the structure of heroic myths: actions carry weight, roles are interdependent, and trials determine who you become. If you are ready to share authorship with others and let various roles shape a single, inevitable fable together, then this is the game for you.

Who created Everdoom?
The lead designer and writer is Tremor Pings who has published Bloc Mass, Fiendgazer, and Orc-Astra on itch with 3 successful Kickstarter campaigns under his belt. The lead visual artist is Pszista who has built a following with his hand-drawn and animated works including Tudatállatok, Gyehenna, and Fényhozó. The producer and co-writer is Márk Jánvári, a spearhead of the Hungarian RPG scene.
What makes Everdoom truly unique?
Not only is there no pre-written story, but the narrative itself is co-created right from the start. All four players contribute to the foundation: the Prime names the main antagonist, the Doomsayer defines the enemy's goal, the Companion outlines the conflict raging in the world, and the Guide sets the quest. Nothing in Everdoom is kept secret, yet the actual unfolding of the fable reveals itself only during gameplay.
The story constantly evolves, enriched by new powers and revelations as the four players react to one another and shape events. We view the story largely from a bird's-eye perspective, much like a chronicler: key scenes are played out quickly, but the narrative allows for significant leaps in both time and space. The Prime's ultimate fate is determined within a single 3-to-4-hour session.

What engine does Everdoom run on?
The game has its own system. All four players use the single central stat, each having a tool to shift the scale or to test it with a roll. It’s a resource shared across the table therefore group dynamics influence its tendencies greatly.
You only need a d20 (plus a d6 for setup), and naturally, the most exciting element is the dice roll that often plays tricks on the players. The core mechanic dictates that if you roll below the current Doom score, Doom is pushed upward—toward becoming a legend—whereas rolling above it pushes it downward, toward becoming an ordinary mortal. While a high Doom score obviously increases the odds of further ascension, it is entirely possible to roll an 18 when you’d need a 17. We have even experienced games where the hero's ascent stalled for a long time due to the roll of the die. It creates a sense of vertigo, as it forces you to rethink your preconceptions and compels everyone to view the same story from a different perspective.
Collaborative thinking is the easiest way to steer the narrative in a predetermined direction. Since everyone possesses a means to alter Doom without rolling dice, if the players share a common vision of the hero’s destiny and mission within the world, they can gradually nudge the scales together. A perfectly synchronized team can wrap up an epic saga surprisingly quickly.
What do you get if you support the campaign?
