Heartfighters: Indie TTRPGs on Artfight

We’re a ring of artists & TTRPG enthusiasts, focused around a yearly challenge on Artfight, the annual art trading event!

To join in on this year’s Heartfight event - tag your indie TTRPG character with #heartfighter on Artfight and attack at least 1 other character from an indie TTRPG! 

What's Artfight?
An annual art trading game in July! Artists "attack" each other by drawing their opponent's characters! It's a ton of fun and a great way to practice new techniques. All skill levels are welcome!

What's Heartfight? (And why "heart?") 
A challenge within the challenge – a call to post and attack characters from less well-known TTRPGs! The "heart" comes from the Chimera Hearts, a collection of folks working to help the TTRPG hobby branch out and thrive. Heartfighters was conceived as a Chimera Hearts project to celebrate OCs from a broad range of games!

What counts as "indie"?
Tough question! We are very broad with this, to avoid spending too much time litigating the answer. For the purposes of Heartfighters, any TTRPG that isn't DnD or Pathfinder will count towards the challenge, though we especially encourage entering characters from smaller games you could find on itch.io.

Leading up to the event in July, we’re doing Character Spotlights on our tumblr and bluesky. Any indie TTRPG characters are welcome, whether they've been up on Artfight for ages, or you just submitted them 30 seconds ago.

Fill out this form if you'd like your OC spotlighted! Have a favorite piece of art and a screenshot from a notable section of their character sheet handy. Feel free to submit multiple!

How can I meet other participants?
We've got a discord server to chat and share characters, but it's optional! Commenting on other Heartfighter characters on artfight or posting about the challenge on social media are also ways to engage! 

I'm an artist but I'm not doing Artfight. Can I join in?
Yes! In a few different ways:
🔥Post your indie TTRPGs OCs on social media and tag #heartfighters. Tag us on tumblr or bluesky and we'll share!
🔥 Tag us in other posts you see of indie TTRPG characters, settings, concepts, or even memes. We'll likely share those too!
🔥Join our discord server to chat and share art, or draw other Heartfighters' OCs freestyle! 
🔥You can also participate in spirit by engaging with art of characters from indie TTRPGs, sharing and/or leaving nice comments!

Our goal is to draw more attention to characters from less mainstream games, and start to build a community of indie TTRPG artists! 

Is there a way for non visual artists to participate?
We're going to run some off-season events on our tumblr and bluesky for moodboards, minis, playlists, memes, writing, and more! Stay tuned! And pitch ideas if you have them!

What is there to win?
We've got some lovely pixel badges you can earn the more characters you attack! You can display them on your Artfight profile with pride! A more detailed breakdown of the badges here on bluesky, and here on tumblr.
