It's Time to Slay to Win!

The kingdom needs saving, and you and you compatriots are just the folks to do it. So, you team up, grab some weapons, and head out to kill the monsters threatening your home. But...

Each of you also wants to go down in history as the greatest monster hunter who ever lived. So YOU need to deal as many of the killing blows as possible to earn that trophy.

In Slay to Win, you and your friends (soon to be frenemies) take on the roles of adventuring do-gooders who hunt down terrifying hybrid monsters like a Demonic Slime or an Icy Owlbear. You'll grab weapons, load up your hand with actions cards, and work together...until the monster is nearly dead. Then, things get serious and each of you will start using stockpiled cards and strategies to make sure you deal the killing blow and earn the trophy points associated with the monster.

While Slay to Win is a fast-play monster hunting game, each game also has a story tied to it. You'll put a story card into play for each game you play. Story cards are themed on those tried and true RPG adventure types we all love, like Dungeon Crawl and Clear the Road. Each story is broken up into three acts. Each act is made up of two drama scenes followed by a fight scene.

For drama scenes, you'll randomly determine some prompts, roleplay based on those prompts as much or as little as you wish, and then make some sort of trait check. These checks will give you things like additional cards to draw.

For fight scenes, you'll determine initiative and take out that monster, using the weapons you've stockpiled and the action cards you filled your hands with in the drama scenes. Whoever deal the killing blow against the monster earns trophy points. And whoever has the most trophy points at the end of a game (or a "campaign" of a series of games) becomes the greatest monster hunter who ever lived.
