Microscope new edition now on Kickstarter
The award-winning game of epic fractal histories and building worlds together.
Humanity spreads to the stars. An invention changes society. The dragon-kings rise and fall.
The new edition of Microscope, the award-winning game of epic fractal histories, is on Kickstarter right now.
With Microscope, you build a vast history together, all in a few hours. But you don't build your story from start to finish, in good old fashioned chronological order. Instead you build from the outside in. You know how the story ends and then jump back and forward, zooming in and out, to explore the parts of the history that interest you.
Destroy a shining city with nuclear fire, and then jump back a thousand years to see the people who built it… and learn what led to its destruction.
The new edition is designed to make the game even more accessible, so someone who has never heard of Microscope before can just open the book, sit down, and play. It takes the power and ease of the original game and dials it up to 11.
No game master. No prep. All you need is a stack of index cards and a few human brains.
Kickstarter for the new Microscope ends on October 29th.
