Ludonarrative Dissidents, the acclaimed podcast of RPG analysis and criticism, has launched a Kickstarter for its fourth season – and not only funded in nine hours, it surpassed its season 3 total in less than a week.

Ludonarrative Dissidents was started in 2021 by veteran RPG designers Greg 'Unknown Armies' Stolze and James 'Baron Munchausen' Wallis, along with Actual Play pioneer Ross 'Roleplaying Public Radio' Payton. Every episode takes one RPG core book or supplement, from classics to avant-garde indies, and vivisects it from a design point-of-view, to understand how it's made and how it's played. The titles under the knife are chosen by the podcast's backers.

Season 4 will have at least 12 episodes, but may double that depending on stretch goals. There'll also be regular livestreams, PDFs of exclusive games and rarities, and a new book club, where core texts about RPG design and analysis will be read and discussed together with the show's hosts. Ludonarrative Dissidents also supports a lively Discord and a comprehensive website.

The LND crew set a modest £6000 ($8000) target for the Kickstarter but a week in they've almost unlocked their second stretch goal, with the campaign running until 12th November. If you like quality RPG analysis and discussion, your support will make this the podcast's best season yet.
