This is a community submitted press release.

In the TTRPG industry, physical dice are plentiful for sighted individuals but scarce and often unaffordable for those who are blind or visually impaired in 2024. DOTS RPG Project helped change that with the introduction of their Signature Braille RPG Dice. These 7 dice sets were the first ever Braille RPG Dice available in a retail setting worldwide, making tabletop gaming more accessible for disabled gamers.

Money raised from the RPGs for Accessible Gaming charity bundle will help fund production for sets of d4s, d6s, d8s, and d10s of their Signature Braille Dice. These new sets will make dice rolling accessible to blind and visually impaired gamers for tabletop games that do not use a d20-based system.

The submission period runs from January 10 - February 9 at the RPGs for Accessible Gaming Gam Jam. All RPGs and supplements submitted will be turned into a charity bundle on itch.io to be sold for a minimum donation of $10 from February 17 - March 17. The fundraising goal of $30,000 would cover the initial cost of production for the sets of d4s, d6s, d8s, and d10s which would then become self-sustaining.

FAQ

Can I submit multiple projects? You are welcome to submit multiple RPGs, free, paid, or pay what you can, including new and existing games.

Are there any rules to the game jam? The only rules are that submissions must be a roleplaying game or RPG adjacent (TTRPGs, tabletop, video games, art for games, etc.), and games cannot be racist, transphobic, homophobic, sexist, or ableist.

How long will the game jam and bundle last? The jam is scheduled to last from January 10 - February 9, while the bundle is planned to collect funds from February 17 - March 17.

How much will the bundle cost when it is live? The bundle will cost a minimum of $10, while higher donations will be appreciated and encouraged.

Which charity will this bundle support? Games submitted to this jam will be turned into a charity bundle to support DOTS RPG Project, an organization focused on improving accessibility in tabletop roleplaying games. Money raised from this charity bundle will help fund production for sets of d4s, d6s, d8s, and d10s of their Signature Braille Dice, manufactured in partnership with Die Hard Dice. A follow up to the RPG dice set, these new sets make dice rolling accessible to blind and visually impaired gamers for tabletop games that do not use a d20-based system. After production, additional funds raised will go towards attendance costs associated with attending tabletop gaming conventions in 2025. At these conventions DOTS is able to bring the conversation of accessibility in tabletop gaming to a larger audience, offer one-on-one consulting, present on panels, and have their Signature Braille Dice available for blind and sighted people alike.
