"The waves of green do shift to warm

As far as I can see

The green to auburn comes each year

No longer, does she

So sail the Wildsea"

In the latest season of the TTRPG podcast My First Dungeon, the cast sets sail on The Wildsea by Felix Isaacs, the award-winning post-apocalyptic weird fantasy roleplaying game set in an endless verdant sea. The series is sponsored by The Wildsea publisher Mythworks to highlight the release of the game's Storm & Root expansion.

Listeners can hear the first episode of My First Dungeon presents: The Wildsea on April 16, 2024 with new episodes dropping every other week through June 2024. In the lead up to episode 1, an interview with designer Felix Isaacs and Session 0 will drop on April 2nd and April 9th respectively.

This limited actual play series features an all-star mix of MFD regulars and new voices to the podcast including Noordin Ali Kadir (The Atomless), Kendrick Smith (Tales Yet Told), J Strautman (Planet Arcana), Abby Hepworth (Sounds Funny Radio), Brian Flaherty (My First Dungeon), and Elliot Davis as the Firefly. My First Dungeon regular Shenuque Tissera is stepping behind the scenes as producer for the series.

For the Many Sided Media team, The Wildsea was love at first sight. Encountering a game that feels completely unique is a rarity as they head into their 15th season. "This book offered us a window into a world that we knew we had to explore on the podcast." says Elliot Davis, who will be running this season. "We are fans of capital-W-Weird world building and of those systems that empower GMs and players to create deeply collaborative stories."

BE/HOLD returns to compose a full soundtrack, taking inspiration from epic film scores and incorporating sounds of the natural world. Beyond the score, listeners can expect a suite of sea shanties—apologies, tree shanties—penned by cast members Brian Flaherty and J Strautman.

The collaboration with Mythworks is the ideal sort of relationship for the team at Many Sided Media, another powerful example of how publishers can support independent actual play while gaining an evergreen resource for bringing new players to their product.
