Virtual Battle Mat: the easiest virtual tabletop, with real 3D miniatures
A browser virtual tabletop with real 3D miniatures, built-in voice and video, a free adventure included, and no download or account to join a game.
Virtual Battle Mat (https://vbm.games) is built to be the easiest virtual tabletop there is. It runs entirely in the browser. Players join a game with one link, with no download and no account, and voice and video are built in, so there is no second app to run alongside it.
Ease is the whole design. There are no modules to install, very basic settings, and nothing to learn before a session. A GM drops in a map, places some minis, and plays. It was built for the person who has to run a game tonight, and it works for people who hate software and people who love it.
The part that makes it different: real 3D miniatures on the map, sculpted and casting shadows, the way they look on a physical table. A hundred or more at once. And players can paint them right in the browser. Pick a color, paint it on, and the mini's own light and shadow show through. VBM is system-neutral and works for any ruleset, with a growing catalog of minis and hand-drawn battle maps from independent studios: Heroic Maps, TacticalMap, GoAdventureMaps, 2-Minute Tabletop, Medusa Art, Sculptorium of Madness, Devin Night, Kyoushuneko, Void Realms, Artejaol and Papsikels.
A complete free adventure is built in. The Dread Wood is a dark fantasy one-shot, two to four hours, with maps and tokens already placed and fog set, so a GM can open it and run a session cold, and learn how VBM works without any prep.
The free tier is free forever. Premium is $6 a month or $36 a year and unlocks the full catalog.
Every miniature and map is made by human artists. There is no AI-generated art, writing, or story content anywhere in the product.
