Imagine a place where work emails don't exist and potato sack races do. Where you can team up with 35 of your closest guild members to adopt a manticore then vanquish a god over the course of a weekend. And late nights in the tavern lead to bittersweet tears at closing ceremonies.

That is Dungeons & Cabins. It's a D&D summer camp for adults in Southern California where what you do at camp affects what happens in the game.

Campers are invited to play, compete, make friends, and ultimately, become heroes. Throughout the weekend, they’ll participate in events where winning archery as campers could earn them tactical advantages in the game, making friendship bracelets means activating magic items, and sharing notes with the other parties could shift the course of the campaign.

Registration is open and bunks are going quickly. Returning campers coordinated their schedules and sold out the third weekend within minutes. These are more than just players, they're a growing community of friends.

So this year, Dungeons & Cabins added an additional weekend to welcome in more new campers as well. There are a handful of spots remaining in August 28-31 weekend and a few more in the September 11-14 weekend.

Literal happy campers

"There’s a reason people cherish their summer camp memories. It’s a magical place where you can make lifelong friends in just a weekend," says Sammy Glicker, Founder of Dungeons & Cabins. "This community blows me away. We have regular meet ups around the country and online games. We go to each other's holiday parties, and even improv shows. That’s true friendship.”

Then about camp, she adds, “it’s also rare to be playing in the same story alongside other parties in the same room, which means your table’s choices might have consequences at other tables. And by might…well, you’ll have to experience it for yourself.”

The 2026 sessions will feature:

  • A weekend-long, multi-table campaign ran by professional Dungeon Masters
  • Classic summer camp activities
  • Mini-painting Arts & Crafts led by Critical Role’s Ian Phillips
  • Themed party versus party events
  • Temperature-controlled cabins and communal spaces
  • Professional on-site chefs and bakers

Dungeon Masters include Alec Lachman, Ashley May King, David Tilstra, Eliam Weinstock, Hannah Harper, Joey Haeck, Johnny Stanton, Leon Barillaro, Mayanna Berrin, Rachel Lathrop, Sammy Glicker, and Zach Macias.
