The Deck of Fates is a new storytelling tool to help Game Masters craft an immersive campaign, using any TTRPG system. Created by a small team led by Varun Singh, the creator of the virtual tabletop platform Hedron, and Rick Heinz of Storytellers Forge, the Deck of Fates is a 52 card Oracle Deck designed for use at the RPG table.
Oracle Decks are similar to Tarot, but the card meanings are more free-form and esoteric—featuring conceptual cards like Havoc, Miracle, and Ruin. Every card pull changes the story. Every session breathes life into the world. The Deck of Fates infuses every campaign with the mysterious whims of fate, leading to new twists and surprises that even the Game Master can't anticipate.
With mechanics for how the Deck can be used during play session by session and scene by scene, or as a worldbuilding tool for GMs to plan their campaign, this system-agnostic RPG accessory changes the game.
The Deck of Fates is crowdfunding on Backerkit through the beginning of August, and already hit its funding goal in under 5 hours.
The crowdfunding campaign includes options for a standard and premium version of the deck, a thoughtfully designed GM screen to reference and display cards, and adventure zines that teach you how to use the deck with different popular game systems, created in collaboration with great publishers like Hunters Entertainment, 9th Level Games, and Critical Kit.
