Inspired by CHVLRBallistic.exe and Metal Gear Solid VMaiombe Tank Safari is a solo journaling game in which you take the role of a mech hunter on a mostly-solitary mission to observe, investigate and ultimately cull biomechanical combat drones gone feral - which now stalk the jungles like laser-armed cryptids.

In the southern hemisphere of Alpha Proxima IV, a regional polity known as the Republic of Maiombe is on its way to celebrate its ten years free from conflict, following a decades-long civil war which somehow embroiled a ludicrously disparate list of actors, both local and interstellar.

Unfortunately, your mission won't take you to any of the places blessed by the ongoing process of national renewal: as an operative for Clear Paths, a paramilitary NGO specialized in ordnance disposal, you'll be going south: knee-deep into former rebel territories. There, you'll be assisting the Maiombese army in the culling of bipedal drones gifted to the rebels by their favored foreign donor: the United Systems Alliance. Drones which, on top of having gone feral since hostilities ended, may also be developing a form of "machine rampancy" - something which, due to stringent Virtual Intelligence conventions, shouldn't be possible for a weapons platform.

So keep your eyes peeled and make note of all you see, as any evidence of "rampancy" you may find in these machines will be collected and logged into a case file against their creators, with the hopes of nailing them in front of the interstellar courts and bringing some belated justice to a land scarred by colonial ambitions and laser fire alike.

Out NOW on itch.io, Maiombe Tank Safari comes in the form of a 24-page manual and a A4-size paper target board, which you may stick to an actual metal target to resolve the game's target shooting checks by...actually shooting it. This isn't mandatory, you can also just use a D6, but we thought it could be cool for immersion's sake.

Much like all of our previous releases, Maiombe Tank Safari also comes with an ambient synth soundtrack by returning champions MINIMIS and Paper Flesh. This time however, it also includes 4 additional audiologs narrated by A_Mac (Feddie Scum, Project Wingman, The Disappearances of Lydia Fountayne) and Reddus (Ashlands M.E.R.C.S, Blood & Sun, Feddie Scum)
