Grimwood Games is bring their anthropomorphic animal superhero game to Kickstarter. Masked Paws is a rules lite game built for all ages. You play animal superheroes in a city that feels like saturday morning cartoon from the 90s. Inspired by comicbook cartoons such as Darkwing Duck and Teenage Mutant Turtles.
At the heart of Masked Paws is a simple, approachable system that keeps the focus on the action and the story. Characters can use their skills and powers to accomplish incredible things, while Power Points give heroes the opportunity to push themselves when the stakes are high. The Momentum Bar tracks the scene’s shifting tide between Heroic Moment and Rising Threat. Successes move the Bar toward Heroic Moment; failures move it toward Rising Threat.
Players can create their own animal superheroes, choosing their skills and powers to build the kind of hero they've always wanted to play. Maybe you're a super-strong bulldog who throws cars. Maybe you're a clever raccoon whose inventions are always one button away from exploding. Maybe you're a flying cat who can leap across the city. Or maybe you're something nobody has ever seen before.
