Welcome to Jubilation

A town map from an overhead perspective, at enough distance that no houses are visible. Only main streets and outlines of occupied land. Sixteen locations are highlighted with numbers in dark squares. To the side is text that reads: "Welcome to Jubilation, everywhere/nowhere, population 2,500." Below which are three check boxes with the text: "12+ Locations, 18+ Unique NPCs, Horrific Threats and Bizarre Encounters". In the bottom right corner is an image of a snarling person's face looming over a microphone as a wolf's head splits from the top of their skull. A rough speech bubble from their humanoid mouth reads: "Plus scraps alluding to the fate of your predecessor."

Jubilation is a small town where the tourists rarely stop and the locals rarely leave. A town full of secrets and monsters. If some of those monsters do wear human skin, you certainly don’t want to know where they got it from.

You were pretty desperate when the call came from Jubilation Radio Station, offering you the position of overnight radio presenter. The result of a lifetime of poor decision-making that you refuse to take responsibility for. But a few weeks in, you’re starting to wonder if you shouldn’t have at least questioned why the position was vacant. If you’re lucky, you might even live long enough to find out.

A black moon with a grinning maw hangs over slightly distorted text which reads: “Good evening, Night Stalkers and Sleep Talkers, you’re listening to Jubilation Radio. We are here and so are you.”

What is Midnight in Jubilation?

Midnight in Jubilation is an urban horror roleplaying game (RPG) designed for solo journalling. This 100-page, A5 book also has a focus on accessibility. All the digital documents have been reviewed by an accessibility consultant to ensure they are screen reader compatible, as will be the case with any additional, unlocked content.

All Presenters need to begin their twisted tale—apart from the game itself, of course—is up to four six-sided dice (d6) and a way of recording gameplay. This can be as simple as pen and paper, a phone, a camera, or a computer.

The gameplay takes place entirely at night, either at Jubilation Radio Station or in the town of Jubilation itself. There is a plethora of Narrative Guides to support solo play, including prompts for the nightly broadcasts, over twelve locations to explore, more than eighteen unique non-player characters (NPCs) to interact with, and all kinds of Threats and horrific encounters. As well as History Handouts to unravel the cruel fate of your predecessor! If you survive long enough to do that, that is.

A camera, an esoteric sigil, a blank notebook and pen, and an open laptop with a strange image displayed on the screen. Over the top is text that reads: "If you don't leave anything behind when you die, how can you be sure you were even truly alive?"

Where can I find out more about the campaign?

The campaign for Midnight in Jubilation is currently live on BackerKit as part of Pocketopia 2026. Not only did it fund on its first day, but tripled that goal and unlocked all the additional content stretch goals in the process! That generous support has allowed author Dorian Blackwood to add two more community-focused stretch goals, already unlocked, including a pledge level for those experiencing financial hardship to receive the digital copies of the game.

Brand new stretch goals have been added, with the latest unlocked stretch goal being a pledge level to have the physical book printed in hardcover format, with an optional autograph and short, personalised message from the author. Come and see for yourself! We’re all waiting for you in Jubilation.

A bullet list with three items and grungy outlines which reads: “Take unsettling calls on the radio. Decide the show’s nightly program. And attempt to survive…”
