Discover the even weirder foes behind the recent robberies of sophisticated rocket technology from the local hi-fi manufacturer. Brave the secrets of the faculty advisor who is either the eternal vampire form of painter Johannes Vermeer or a very bored sociology professor.
The Pirate's Ghost is an investigation meant to be played over one or two sessions. It's intended for use with the open-licensed Cthulhu Eternal system, but is easy to play with all the most popular d100-based investigative horror games. It's inspired by such works as Scooby-Doo, The Stone Tape and Herbert West-Reanimator.
Players take the role of their college's mystery-solving club in the far-flung past of 1975. A sleepy town has endured a series of spooky robberies, and with nowhere else to turn, the locals look to the beloved mystery-solving player characters.
The Pirate's Ghost will be available as a PDF ($5) and a ~30 page printed, letter-sized zine ($15). It'll include pre-generated characters, handouts, and appendices. It is the third crowdfunding effort by publisher Twilit Grotto. Estimated shipping is December 2026.
