The new season of Moment of Balance drops July 22
The year is 175 AG, one year after the defeat of the Earth Empire, and only a few months since the fall of Varrick Industries at the hands of our three protagonists: Sabi, Hanako, and Chong.
With a new lease on life, the three embark on an electric journey, venturing out into the Earth Kingdom to bring aid to the fractured nation. But they soon find out that the ghosts from their past have different plans for them.
Moment of Balance is an actual play podcast produced by Bad Rep Productions using the Avatar Legends system, with a strong focus on narrative and improv drama. The show follows Sabi, a metalbending gunslinger with a past in organized crime, Hanako, a diplomat from the Fire Nation who recently escaped from under the thumb of her controlling mother, and Chong, a traveling musician turned airbender with a history of being a flake.
The show has a focus on leftist politics, the consequences of violence, and redemption for a past of misdeeds. It also heavily features queer relationships that aren't afraid to get messy and realistic.
Moment of Balance is a perfect match for any fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra (especially the latter) who wished the original shows had been less centrist in their politics and showed more explicit queer relationships on screen.
There are currently two full seasons out, totaling 17 episodes, plus bonus content between seasons that explores the past and inner psyche of our three protagonists.
